I have extensive experience as a family lawyer and mediator and as an estate law lawyer. I am dedicated to helping my clients work towards lasting, fair and practical resolutions with a goal of minimizing conflict. I am a compassionate and highly skilled lawyer who brings years of legal knowledge and experience to help you to achieve the best outcome for you.
I have been committed to negotiating favourable but fair settlements for my clients for more than twenty years. I began my career in the family law courts of Hamilton and Toronto where I learned that family law disputes are best settled outside of the court process whenever possible. For the past ten years my family law practice has focussed on negotiated settlements, including Separation Agreements, Marriage Contracts and Cohabitation Agreements.
As a trained, accredited and skilled Family Mediator and Collaborative Family Lawyer, I offer many options to my family law clients in ways to negotiate fair terms for their Agreements. As a board member of the Ontario Association of Family Mediators, an active member of the Oakville Mediators Group and the Collaborative Practice group of Hamilton/Halton, I work together with my clients to help them choose the best process for them in resolving their family law issues.
My estate law experience spans more than twenty years, with a particular focus on Wills and Estate Planning and Estate Administration. As a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Planners since 2013, I ensure that I can provide up to date legal advice to help my clients with all of their Will and Estate Planning needs.
Throughout my legal career, I have helped to guide clients through the process of dealing with the estate of a loved one. Administering an estate is often difficult and time-consuming work. My estate law team and I are knowledgeable and experienced with estate administration and can help ensure that your work as an executor or estate trustee proceeds as efficiently as possible.
Whether acting as a family lawyer, estate lawyer or mediator, I strive to ensure my client’s goals and interests are respected. As a founding partner of Morgan and Phillips LLP, I take pride in our service to the Milton community.
